CONTEST:
A coworker Danielle
(God bless you Danielle!) and I have been talking health lately (actually I've
talked to several of the sales reps lately about it lol-a lot of them are gym
rats etc). It's funny that we can relate even though we are at opposite ends of
the spectrum - she being close to her ideal and me being VERY far from it. But
the feeling is the same when you are not comfortable in your skin. It's a yucky
feeling no matter what level you are at. But isn't it awesome that it's totally
in our power to do something about it? I certainly can't bring my mother back,
but I can get my health back.
So in the next
month I need to lose just over 18 pounds bitches - 4% of my body weight. www.dietbet.com is the contest we are doing. We lose
$35 if we don't meet our goal and get our money back and possibly more if we
reach our goal.
I'm using www.myfitnesspal.com to track my foods
(LOVE it) and the Polar loop to track my activity. I chose this one because
even though I love fit bit devices, they ain't water proof. We are pretty damn
lucky in this technical era, right? I seem to recall my mom flipping through a
diet book to see how many calories an apple was and tracking everything on
paper. What a pain in the ass eh? (I guess I should not admit that in grade
school we had to actually go to the library AND check out books when we had a
report-we couldn't ask our friend google. Oh hell that ages me right?)
Starting Weight

POLAR LOOP ACTIVITY:
Recap: I am doing
really well. I actually forgot to wear it one night at the pool. Been killing
it working out even though I'm sick.
MEALS:
OMG I love you www.myfitnesspal.com
Recap: I'm
regretting the tempura veggies lol. Kudos for the green smoothie! Hells ya! Was
super stressful today, which usually leads to me going to get treats, but I
didn't! I even had a yogurt tonight when Sammi was eating a cupcake her dad got
her. I MUST do this. Even harder then not having sweet stuff though is only
having Diet Cokes on cheat night. Especially when I'm sick and my throat
hurts-damn Diet Coke tastes good and feels so good on a sore throat. (Oh how I
miss you dear Diet Coke!)
OVERALL:
Well I found out
I'm not pregnant ha ha - long story you don't even wanna know. But hey that is
one less thing to stress over. I'm stopping the phetermine - I was only on in
two weeks but it gives you some bathroom problems. Yeah ick. Plus who knows
what it is doing to the old ticker, so better to do without (it was a better
solution to weight loss surgery which I was kind of considering for a while)
CHANGING IT UP:
Got some frozen
diet meals to make things easy. Got ones with less sodium. The downside of course
is hello processed food but the bonus is that its quick & easy (just like
me back in the day-ha ha jk mostly). Also it is a certain amount of calories so
that is good too. Ideally I would be eating tuna etc, but if this works, I'm
sticking to it.
I need to make sure
to keep drinking the stinking water. Ha ha, I just make a sign for my desk.
Can't wait to weigh
in on Saturday. If I didn't lose 5 pounds then I won't have my cheat meal. It's
worth it to make it, eh?
BOO HOO LANE: (a fun
and fluffy fat memory)
(about 10 years
ago...probably around 300 pounds)
It was the first
day of college. I was so excited to get started! After all, I was super proud I
was paying for my own education etc. I walked into my Math class and saw a fat
girl's nightmare (ONE of them I should say) - the chair/desk combo. Oh man
those are tight. When had I last been in one I wondered? Oh hell, you only live
once. Just go for it. Damn I wish I had gotten here earlier so there are not so
many witnesses lol. Oh screw it. I can always squish in and then I'll just wait
until everyone leaves so no one sees me get un-squished lol.
So I sit in the
chair, look around and smile to people sitting by me. So far, so good. I got
this! Whats this? Oh I dropped something? Oh, this person is pointing it out,
but not getting it for me. So I go to stand up...oh shit the GD chair/desk
combo thing, well it comes up with me. And then there is a low laugh, and then
more. I am mortified. I squeeze myself out of the chair and nearly race out of
the room of amused onlookers...never ever to return. Thank God for refunds, but
OH the shame.
DREAM COMING TRUE:
(to remind me of why I'm doing this)
Soccer has always
been my thing. I also really love volleyball. Would love to play more corporate
and intramural sports at night - a game a week etc and actually be competitive
at it. Oh this I would love!!!!!
